A note from CEO + Founder, Angela Jia Kim:
"The inspiration behind the Dollars & Scents program came from my mom who, after my father passed away, raised three girls as a single parent.  She was a piano teacher in Ames, IA who needed a flexible job in order to pick us up from school and then begin teaching the piano in the afternoon, which was her creative passion. 

Employers were not understanding of the situation, and finding a job with this flexibility proved to be impossible.  When I started this company, I wanted to employ women who needed this flexibility to bring up their children—the most important job they will ever have.  I also wanted the Om Aroma work environment to encourage and cultivate the extraordinary talents and passions of these women. 

When you purchase one of our luxury products, you know that a woman in our Dollars & Scents program packaged it by hand.  Would it be easier and more cost-effective to get a machine to do everything?  Absolutely.  But we are a company with a soul, and when we help women here and around the world, we are helping ourselves."
